Stafford rated ‘Good’ by Ofsted

We’re delighted to announce the outcome of our recent Ofsted inspection at Stafford. Rated an overall judgement of ‘Good‘, the key findings are below:

  • Management ensure that staff regularly observe children during their planned and spontaneous play times. Staff identify and plan for all children’s next steps in their learning. This helps to ensure that any gaps in children’s learning are swiftly closed. All children make good progress and develop the skills they need for the next phase of their learning.
  • Staff are warm, caring and responsive to children’s immediate needs. They use meaningful praise, are positive role models and help children to learn about rules and boundaries of behaviour.
  • Children demonstrate close emotional attachments with the staff. They develop strong friendships with one another and demonstrate empathy as they show care, take turns and share the resources well. Outcomes for children are good.
  • Staff build positive relationships with other providers and schools. This helps to ensure a shared approach for all children’s care and learning throughout the nursery. This also promotes children’s readiness for the next phase in their learning and their eventual move to school.

We would like to take this opportunity to say thank you to the parents who took the time to speak to Ofsted on the day of the inspection. Thank you for your continued support.

‘Team Honeybuns’ raise over £11,000 for Action Medical Research

A team of four budding cyclists and enthusiastic fundraisers from Honeybuns Nursery Group joined the annual Action ‘London to Paris’ bike ride alongside 90 other cyclists riding from London to Paris between 19-23 July 2017.

Beginning at Crystal Palace, this challenge took the Honeybuns team through the beautiful and rolling countryside of Kent down to the white cliffs of Dover. The team then crossed by ferry to Calais and followed the quiet routes through Northern France, enjoying rolling landscapes, quaint villages and historic towns down into Paris for the finish.

The ride – which culminated at the Eifel Tower on the final day of the 2017 Tour de France – raised over £160,000 for Action Medical Research.

Honeybuns Nursery Group Owner, Anthony Reeley who headed the team of cyclists said: “What an amazing feeling! We’ve cycled nearly 400 miles enduring every possible weather condition over the 4 days, but what a wonderful achievement! We’ve helped raise over £11,000 for our charity partner and had an incredible adventure. I couldn’t be prouder of the team and the Staff at the Nurseries who have made a fantastic effort in fundraising alongside us.’’

Head of Events for the charity Emma Morgan said: “We really cannot thank everyone who took part in this ride enough. The atmosphere was just amazing thanks to the infectious enthusiasm from all of the cyclists!”

The Honeybuns team will continue to raise money for their charity partner over the next 12 months with a programme of on-going activities and fun events for the parents and children alongside Team Challenges, all of which are designed to work with the local community.

London to Paris Bike Ride 2017 for Action Medical Research

Team Honeybuns are proudly supporting their Charity Partner, Action Medical Research by taking part in the London to Paris Bike Ride 2017 in July.

They are raising money for the children’s charity Action Medical Research, dedicated to improving the health of babies and children.

Hundreds of thousands of children’s lives are devastated by disease and disability. Like Iona who at five was diagnosed with brain cancer, Tom who has the fatal muscle-wasting condition Duchenne muscular dystrophy or Alfie, who has severe cerebral palsy and can’t use his arms or legs and is unable to talk.

Medical research can help children like these but is underfunded in the UK. For every project Action funds there’s another one they have to turn away – simply because of a lack of funds.

New treatments and cures for sick babies and children are urgently needed.

Will you help them reach the target and join the fight for little lives for sick babies and children? If you would like to sponsor the team please follow the link under.
