Honeybuns awarded Shropshire’s nursery of the year at the BCA’s!

The team at Honeybuns,Telford are celebrating this week after winning Shropshire’s top Nursery at the BCA Awards. The 2016 Businesses for Children Awards, which celebrates and recognises the hard work of businesses across the region which educate, support and provide services for children and young people, were held at The Park Inn, Telford, on Saturday night.

BCA Judge, Lee Ferriday said: “I was particularly impressed by the depth of learning that was planned for the children to ensure they experience all aspects of the Early Years framework in a meaningful way.  I was also impressed by the infectious enthusiasm of the staff when engaging with the children in this well resourced setting.”

Honeybuns Director of Care, Alison Shipton, said: “We are absolutely delighted and overwhelmed to have won this prestigious award. We were up against some tough competition in this category and we’d like to congratulate all those who were nominated. The nomination was made by one of our parents, which is a wonderful way to be recognised.

“We are so proud of our team at Honeybuns. Our staff are extremely passionate about their work with the children and it’s a great opportunity to celebrate this.  Nursery Manager Emma Morris and her team would like to thank the parents for their continued support and for letting us care for their wonderful children!”

The Telford team had a fantastic night on Saturday and it was a great opportunity to both celebrate and relax together!

Mulitcultural learning

The Equal Opportunities Coordinators went to the Multicultural Centre to collect some new equipment relevant to various countries that we will be looking at over the coming weeks. The children in Squirrels Telford enjoyed learning about Kenya; playing with the instruments and looking at pictures.

Healthy Eating at Telford

This month’s theme at Telford is Healthy Eating. The Foxes children have been tasting lots of different fruits including watermelon, avocado, star fruit, dates, blackberries, blueberries, strawberries, raspberrries, lemons and limes. All the children enjoyed tasting the different fruits, and the lemon and limes provided interesting facial expressions!
