BBC Children in Need appeal – over £2,000 and counting…

A huge ‘Thank you’ to everyone who took part in our activities and donated money to the BBC Children in Need Appeal 2015. So far we have managed to raise a fantastic £2,027.03 across the group, which is an amazing amount! We still have sponsor money coming in, so we also expect that figure to rise. Great fun was had by all for a very worthy cause.

BBC Children in Need

This week for our Children in Need annual appeal, the children and staff across the group have taken part in lots of activities, including a ‘Sponsored Bounce’, dressing up as well as making and selling biscuits and cakes throughout the week.
It is a charity that is close to our hearts and will make a difference to many children’s lives across the country. Our parents always provide us with a great support in raising as much money as possible for Children in Need, so a big thank you!

Don’t forget our Norton Canes nursery is holding a Children in Need Car Wash this Saturday 14th November between 10.00am – 2.00pm. Please come along and support them. £3.00 per car.

Halloween gets messy

At Honeybuns Nurseries, we love an excuse to get creative, dress up, and get messy! Halloween is the perfect reason to do all of those things…

A week of Autumn activities at Norton Canes

Last week, we had a week of Autumn activities at Norton Canes. It was wet and windy but the children still had enormous fun as you can see!

The Hedgehogs at Norton Canes go camping!

Our Hedgehogs at Norton Canes have been learning all about the outdoors this week. Their theme has been ‘Camping’. They have enjoyed exploring all the activities that you many encounter on a camping trip, from toasting marshmallows around the fire, making hot chocolate for bedtime, singing songs around the fire and finally getting ready for bed in those cosy sleeping bags! The children all had a wonderful time and so did the team!

Outdoor fun in the garden at Stafford

Children really do thrive in stimulating outdoor play areas, choosing, creating and being in charge of their own play environment. Among many of the activities, our children at Stafford enjoyed exploring water in the Mud Kitchen, planting seeds, making bug habitats and of course the obligatory climbing!

Celebrating 20 years at Honeybuns!

Huge congratulations go to our Director of Care, Alison who has recently celebrated 20 years service with Honeybuns Nurseries. Alison has been the driving force behind the Nurseries and we’re so proud of what she has achieved over the last 20 years. Our nurseries are the success they are, due to her hard work, commitment and above all passion for providing the very best in childcare.

Shortly after joining Honeybuns in 1995, Alison had her daughter Faye, who came to work with her at 11 weeks old. As a new Mum, she recognised how important it was for every child to receive the best possible care, and has always held this in mind when caring for other people’s children. Her daughter is now nearly 19 and starting University in October. Alison said: “Honeybuns was so important in Faye’s life and it laid the foundations for her future. I am feeling very old today, but exceptionally proud. It has been an amazing 20 years and I have had, and continue to have, a fantastic team around me to make Honeybuns the success it is today. Most importantly, I’ve had the privilege of looking after and caring for many children over the years and to see them happy and healthy each day makes my job worthwhile. I will continue to ensure that Honeybuns is the best in the business.”

Here’s to another 20 years Alison!

Actively encouraging healthy eating at Norton

Actively encouraging healthy eating and promoting good habits from an early age reaps great benefits for our children’s long term health and wellbeing. Our Hedgehogs at Norton have been on a trip to the local supermarket to look at the fresh produce. They enjoyed selecting and purchasing the vegetables to make a delicious stew!

Snail racing at our Stafford nursery!

Stafford children have been having fun in the wet weather this week. The weather has brought out the snails in our nursery garden, so we decided to talk about and watch the snails everyday life. We also had some fun watching the snails have a race to the finish line!

Sports Day fun at Stafford

We had a great morning at our Stafford Sports Day with lots of people to cheer us on! A host of medals were handed out and we had so much fun. Thank you to everyone who was able to support us.
